Before buyers arrive, restore the staged arrangement, remove daily-use items and check each main sightline. Turn on appropriate lights, open clean window coverings and make sure the temperature is comfortable.

- Straighten bedding, cushions, rugs and artwork.
- Remove pet supplies, personal documents and valuables.
- Use scent cautiously; clean air is preferable to a strong fragrance.
Let buyers focus on the property
Staging should answer practical questions about scale and use while leaving buyers room to form their own opinion. Personal photos, collections and highly specific décor can pull attention away from that process.
For vacant homes, a coordinated installation prevents important rooms from feeling cold or ambiguous. For occupied homes, selective editing and additions can achieve the same clarity.
